Former Binance CEO Revives 5-Year Bitcoin Call

Bitcoin

Unexpectedly, CZ, the former CEO of Binance, has reappeared on social media to remind everyone of a five-year-old Bitcoin (BTC) prediction he made. Referring to a 2019 article, CZ—who is presently serving a four-month prison sentence in the United States—predicted major changes once Bitcoin’s price hit $8,000.

Given that Bitcoin is currently trading above $66,000 and has hit highs close to $74,000, it seems that his prediction was correct.

Curiosity has increased since CZ resurfaced on social media, particularly in light of his ongoing legal issues. After he resigned as CEO of Binance in April, he admitted guilt to accusations of money laundering and was given a four-month jail term.

Additionally, the Bitcoin exchange consented to pay a hefty $4.3 billion punishment. Prosecutors had originally requested a four-month sentence for the 47-year-old entrepreneur, which made it appear unusually short.

Since CZ’s original prediction, the value of Bitcoin has increased dramatically. With a $1.3 trillion market capitalization, cryptocurrencies have made a name for themselves in the financial industry alongside more conventional assets like gold and stocks.

The acceptance of a spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) on the American stock market highlights its integration into mainstream finance and makes it more appealing to a wider group of investors, including pension funds.
