Ripple CTO Urges XRPL Validators to Adopt New Update

XRPL

Validators and XRP Ledger (XRPL) node operators are recommended to update to rippled, the ledger’s standard server implementation, version 2.1.0, by Ripple Chief Technology Officer David Schwartz.

The updated version brings major changes, bug fixes, and improved build quality.

Operators must upgrade their servers by March 5th, according to Ripple, in order to guarantee continuous service and adherence to the most recent protocol improvements.

Key features of the update

Version 2.1.0, the most recent release, significantly enhances the XRPL, making it more dependable and secure.

One of the most important changes makes ensuring that transactions involving digital collectibles are safer and adhere to strict guidelines. A bug that might result in failures during specific transactions is fixed in another update.

This release also fixes a connection setup issue inside the system and includes additional improvements meant to improve the overall performance of the network.

It is anticipated that these modifications would improve the XRPL’s general usefulness, efficiency, and security.

Current adoption status

The 2.1.0 upgrade has been well received by the XRPL community; according to current data, more over 50% of the network’s share has already switched to the new version.

By coming to a consensus, validators are in charge of verifying the legitimacy of transactions on the network. The ledger’s consistency and integrity are guaranteed by this procedure.

Before any protocol modifications may be made, the XRPL amendment procedure needs the backing of these reliable validators for more than 80% of the time during a two-week period. Changes to the ledger, as those made in version 2.1.0, are made with broad community consensus thanks to this decentralised decision-making process.
