At the end of 2023, Thomas Silkjaer, head of analytics and compliance at XRPL Foundation, made a hint about some intriguing tendencies he saw for XRP Ledger.
A graph displaying the quantity of XRP and the number of imported accounts was shared by Silkjaer. A notable increase in these two indicators from mid-December was seen.

The growth of imported accounts is a result of changes made to the XRP Ledger ecosystem at the close of 2023.
In order to enable current owners of XRPL accounts to experiment on Xahau, Wietse Wind, the inventor of the XRP Ledger, stated around the middle of December that opening an account on Xahau with the same XRPL account (same r-address) would result in a 2 XAH balance. Users would have to input their XRPL address into Xahau in order to do this.
The Xumm/Xaman 2.6.0 version, which enabled users to effortlessly switch networks with the same r-address and offered multi-network functionality across XRPL and Xahau, was published around the same time in December.
A new xApp called XRPScan, an XRP Ledger explorer, was also released, enabling users to import their XRPL account into Xahau and receive two XAH at no cost.
Xahau is a sidechain for smart contracts in the XRPL ecosystem that combines XRPL features with smart contract functionality. Xahau XRP (XAH), the native coin of Xahau, provides security.
The amount of XRP burns has increased since mid-December, according to on-chain data, as more users choose to use the Xahau sidechain.
Apart from that, as 2024 drew nearer, XRPL saw increases in a number of measures that indicated network activity. On December 26, the number of newly created accounts reached a peak of 20,183.
As previously mentioned, on December 30, the XRP Ledger (XRPL) achieved an all-time high of 6.8 million transactions daily. The previous peak was close to 5 million transactions per day in November 2021.
