Markus said that the “Break the Cycle” commercial from Coinbase is “interesting” and that it explains why so many people are adopting cryptocurrency, particularly in the last few months. “The system is failing for them, so they look for alternatives,” he claims.
Markus said, “This advertisement paints lawmakers like Elizabeth Warren, who oppose cryptocurrency and are working to prevent it from altering the American and international financial systems, as the ‘enemies of the people.'”
Crypto failed to live up to goal set for it, Markus believes
Billy Markus also offered his opinion on the original purpose of cryptocurrency and whether or not it has been successful in achieving that objective. He reminded everyone that the original purpose of cryptocurrency—Bitcoin included—was to provide a “direct response to the financial crisis of 2007 and all the corruption that led up to it.”

Though he acknowledged that it is “up for debate,” Markus believes that neither Bitcoin nor cryptocurrencies in general have been able to “live up to their promise.”
