The forensics team at the XRP Ledger Foundation has sent out a crucial warning to the XRP community as part of their ongoing effort to identify and stop financial wrongdoing on the XRPL.
This occurs as a remarkably lifelike deepfake video posing as Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has surfaced, seeking to trick viewers into purchasing a phoney XRP giveaway.
The appearing enticing offer to contribute at least 1,000 XRP and receive twice as much in return is what lures victims into the fraud. The voice of the video, which faithfully imitates the Ripple CEO, promises participants in this alleged community-support programme fast returns.
XRP forensics warns the XRP community to be cautious about deep fakes in light of this. They are also advised to exercise caution and refuse “free money.” The XRP community should be aware that scams offering “free money” are a fraud intended to defraud people.

John Deaton, the attorney for XRP holders, alerts the XRP community to the Ripple CEO’s deepfake and warns them that anybody requesting cryptocurrency or wallet access is a fraudster.
The XRP community is not exempt from the actions of dishonest people looking to take advantage of gullible investors. XRP forensics urged the XRP community not to reveal their keys as there are neither giveaways nor airdrops when the Xahau network became operational at the end of October.
It’s important to remember that dishonest people are always improving their tactics and using more complex ways to deceive gullible investors. A phoney Xumm plugin in the Chrome web store that requests user secret phases in order to steal money was alerted to XRP users of the Xumm cryptocurrency wallet, as previously reported. Xumm has never offered browser plugins and never will.
