Ripple Says XRP Ledger XLS-30 AMM Testing Completed, What’s Next?

XRP

The much awaited XLS-30 patch for the XRP Ledger protocol, which will bring basic DeFi functionality to XRP holders, has through stress testing and is almost ready for mainnet activation, according to a RippleX announcement. Here’s why 2023 will mark an important turning point for Ripple, XRP Ledger, and XRP.

XLS-30 AMM testing competed: XRP Ledger becomes DeFi blockchain

The XLS-30 update to the XRP Ledger protocol has successfully passed extensive performance testing. The upgrade is prepared to introduce cross-assets swap, liquidity provision, and trading — three fundamental DeFi operations — to XRPL natively. On today, October 7, 2023, the RippleX team posted this announcement on their official X account.

Technically speaking, the impending rippled 1.12.0 upgrade’s most important component is XLS-30. For the broader XRP Ledger ecosystem, it is expected to represent a significant technological development.

The upgrade will include a large number of improvements in addition to a number of new transaction types that will work with the payments engine.

The idea underwent rigorous third-party examinations in July 2023, according to Ripple engineers, by the top blockchain security company CertiK.

Early in September 2023, as reported by U.Today, XLS-30 and XLS-39 Clawback enhancements were included into the planned release’s code base.

When mainnet activation?

Developers at Ripple examined whether the XRP Ledger mainnet was prepared to embrace such enhancements in terms of compatibility and performance during the last 12 months:

The RippleX team has been continuously testing the core XRP Ledger for over a year in order to supplement a safe codebase. To maintain the stability of the XRPL Mainnet, a strict approach has been used to evaluate the performance and latency of the consensus and ledger.

As a result, the blockchain has already begun the voting process to determine if the proposed changes must be activated on the XRP Ledger mainnet.

The new rippled 1.12.0 update will be enabled if the active nodes supporting it reach the threshold of 28/35 and maintain it for two weeks.

Additionally, Evernode, an L2 scaling platform built on XRP Ledger, has finished its audit and is nearing the launch of its public mainnet.
