Shibburn wallet tracker, which updates its website with new information on Shiba Inu burn transactions, has informed users that the burn rate of this well-known meme cryptocurrency has significantly increased during the past 24 hours.
Shibarium, a Layer-2 blockchain that was just recently created, continues to break records in the meanwhile. Just yesterday, it achieved new important milestones in several of its main indicators.
SHIB burns spike over 107%
Shibburn just revealed data showing that, in the last 24 hours, the SHIB army has successfully destroyed a total of 38,942,436 SHIB meme currencies.
These burns have increased the popular canine cryptocurrency’s burn rate from Tuesday, when only about 20,000,000 SHIB were delivered to dead wallets, to the second cryptocurrency in terms of market cap value.
The entire burn rate was below 80% with the SHIB burnt yesterday. On Monday, it was down 10% and more than 100,000,000 SHIB were destroyed. Thus, today’s increase in the SHIB burn index is the first one this week.
This time, there haven’t been any sizable burn transactions; the two biggest ones lacked even 7,000,000 SHIB.
Shibburn just tweeted that in all, the SHIB army burned 2,323,834,085 SHIB in 426 transactions to non-spendable wallets in September. Shibburn issued the tweet over the weekend.

Shibarium hits new milestones on various fronts
Shibarium, the Layer-2 blockchain created by the SHIB development team, continues to grow in terms of utility and achieve new milestones in the meanwhile.
Shibarium has already seen more than 3,308,000 transactions, according to current statistics from the Shibariumscan explorer. 1,252,121 wallets are currently connected to the Layer-2 platform. Shibarium now has 961,673 produced blocks, and this number is rapidly nearing the one million mark.
SHIB price performance this week
The SHIB price has decreased by 5.76% from Monday so far this week. The price of the meme currency dropped by about 2% earlier today after a large hourly red candle was generated. SHIB has since recovered some of these losses, raising its price by 0.78%.
