Crypto users are outraged by a recent rash of XRP-related frauds on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Users are frustrated as posts promising a sizable XRP airdrop spread, raising concerns about the platform’s capacity to police spam and fraudulent behaviour.
Users of the cryptocurrency are venting their frustration on the network, with prominent influencer Coach K Crypto (@Coachkcrypto) writing, “@elonmusk Why don’t these fraud posts, which I see at least ten of every day, get them banned?
Musk’s failed anti-scam efforts
Users of cryptocurrencies dispute Elon Musk’s claims that X has eliminated 90% of frauds. Numerous reports suggest that fraud, particularly concerning cryptocurrencies, has not decreased at all.
The platform’s capacity to identify and get rid of hostile actors was said to have seen a “dramatic improvement” in the past, according to Musk.
Users continue to be duped, and some have even included Musk in their complaints.
More attention, more scams
Due to the widespread use of the XRP coin, Ripple has long been a favourite target for fraudsters. However, because of the increasing media coverage of Ripple’s judicial victory and impending celebration events, there has been a spike in frauds in recent months. This increased visibility appears to be attracting more criminals who perceive the excitement surrounding Ripple and XRP as a chance to take advantage of gullible investors.
According to U.Today, the CEO of Ripple, Brad Garlinghouse, recently revealed a celebration in New York City.
The ceremony, which is slated for September 29, is meant to signal Ripple’s big legal triumph over the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
