Shiba Inu Lead Shytoshi Kusama Teases Major Shibarium Milestone

In a recent blog post, the chief creator of Shiba Inu, Shytoshi Kusama, mentioned an impending milestone of 1 million transactions on the Shibarium Layer 2 (L2) network.

Kusama praised Shibarium as one of the “fastest and cheapest” L2 networks available and expressed his congratulations to the ShibArmy community for reaching over 1 million wallets.

With the help of Shibarium, the original Shiba Inu project on Ethereum will be scaled, enabling quicker and more affordable transactions. The report also highlighted the network’s cheap petrol costs, which Kusama seems to find pleasing despite some community members’ worries that such low pricing could discourage miners.

The upgrade emphasised the availability of a hosted Blockscout explorer on Shibariumscan, enabling users to do their own investigation and confirm contracts. While the protocol team works on Shibarium’s growth, Blockscout will oversee the explorer.

By working together, the chain is kept completely indexed, which makes project audits easier and promotes ecosystem confidence. Shibarium intends to highlight projects created on its platform in the near future, provided that their contracts are correctly checked.

The stablecoins USDT, USDC, and DAI as well as additional assets like Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) and XFUND were all described by Kusama as being mapped to Shibarium’s bridge.

The introduction of these tokens to the Shibarium network is a component of a larger plan to boost the platform’s usefulness and draw in a wider spectrum of developers and users. Additionally, partnerships with third-party bridges are in the works to make it easier to include additional tokens into Shibarium.

The community has already begun to celebrate the short-term successes and anniversaries of Shibarium, but the long-term objective seems to be to foster community-led innovation. In the future, Kusama emphasised, the Shib team would focus on developing technologies on top of Shibarium with the goal of having the network host the “next big innovation.”
