Positive on-chain statistics for April has been revealed by the Cardano Foundation. The released image indicates that there were 65.6 million transactions overall in April, an increase of 2.49%.
A million more wallets were added within a month, bringing the total to 64 million in March.
While the total number of wallets increased by 1.19% to 4.07 million at the same time, the number of delegated wallets only slightly increased to 1.28 million, by 0.06%.
Plutus scripts increased by 3.53% and reached 5,419 throughout the time frame. The number of native tokens in use today is 8.07 million, a rise of 2.63%.
The number of minting policies increased by 72,133, or 1.37%. Smart contracts were employed in 30% of transaction types. About 21% of all transaction categories, or metadata-type transactions, were not made using smart contracts. 49 percent of transaction types were straightforward.
Fluid tokens move to Aiken
Peer-to-peer lending system FluidTokens will switch to Aiken as its smart contract development language. This decision is anticipated to have significant positive effects on the project and the larger Cardano ecosystem.
The benefit of using Aiken is that it reduces the size of smart contract scripts, which brings down prices. The size of the script that implements the contract determines the smart contract costs on Cardano.
In contrast to Plutus, the core smart contract language of Cardano, which may be challenging to work with, especially for inexperienced developers, Aiken is intended to be simple and user-friendly, making it easier for developers to write and manage smart contracts without relying on external dependencies.
