Cardano Conducts Major Protocol Update, See What Changed

Cardano

The Cardano (ADA) development team recently made significant protocol changes. This week’s changes are intended to improve the platform and guarantee seamless user experiences.

Key updates on Cardano this week

A blog post claims that Cardano engineers carried out significant updates that had an impact on the network’s development, scalability, and fundamental technology, among other things. Notably, node v.10.1.1 was updated to v.10.1.2 by the key technology teams. The DB Sync team, on the other hand, concentrated on a version 13.6.0.0 prerelease that works with node v.10.1.0.

Furthermore, the governance action task was implemented via cardano-cli by the Cardano team via decentralised submission, which proved to be dependable and somewhat scalable. Additionally, they presented strategies for lowering submission cost and achieving linear performance scaling as the number of votes per transaction increased.

The Mithril team worked hard to create the next distribution prerelease, 2445.0-pre, in order to scale. They implemented dependable support for Cardano node v.10.1 and completed capturing the aggregator metrics in the event store. The group also looked into ways to register signers on a Mithril network with many aggregators operating simultaneously. Lastly, they started creating a new status route in the aggregator and established a nightly process in the CI to guarantee backward compatibility with previous releases.

Major changes since Cardano’s Voltaire upgrade

Since entering the Voltaire era—the last stage of its decentralization—Cardono has undergone significant advancements. ADA holders currently have the most voting power in Voltaire.

Commands were improved in Cardano node v.10.1.2 in response to community input, especially from stake pool managers.

The number of distinct delegators has grown from 13,835 to 16,902 since Friday, Nov. 1, 2024. Additionally, the number of vote delegations rose from 15,060 to 18,366; nevertheless, the number of DRep registrations climbed by 21 (603 to 624).
