Just in time for the much awaited Chang hard fork, Cardano has welcomed the release of a new wallet upgrade. This is a huge development for the Cardano ecosystem. With the introduction of this wallet, Cardano is getting ready for one of its most significant updates.
The functionality needed for the eagerly awaited Chang upgrade is included in the most recent wallet release.
Input Output Global (IOG), a Cardano developer, just tweeted that Daedalus version 6.0.0 is now available for mainnet, pre-prod, and preview. All Daedalus users may need to update to Daedalus 6.0.0 as it is a mainnet release that is needed to survive the impending Chang hard fork and function in the Conway era.

This release updates the Daedalus auto-update function to correct the issue while running Daedalus on Linux with “AppArmor” enabled. It also upgrades to node 9.1.0, Cardano wallet v2024-07-27, and the dependant Ledger and Trezor hardware wallet libraries.
It is important for cryptocurrency users to remember that Daedalus is still a desktop-only full-node wallet. A “mobile Daedalus” would be a fraud in this sense, attempting to get ADA and user seed words.
Chang upgrade approaches
The upgrade to Cardano looks to be closer than ever. Intersect, a member-based organisation for the Cardano ecosystem, disclosed this in a recent update.
According to stake, Intersect reports that 80% of SPOs in the Cardano ecosystem have achieved version 9.1.0, suggesting that SPOs have passed the hard fork threshold. Out of the exchanges, 12 have indicated that they are ready, while 19 are still operating. Notable participants include Binance and Crypto.com.
The first dApp to declare itself prepared for the Chang hard fork has also been noted.
