Cardano Lead Dev Teases Thrilling 2024 Plans Involving Arbitrum and Mina Protocol

Cardano

Lead engineer of Cardano, Sebastien Guillemot, alluded to significant blockchain advancements in 2024 in a recent X post. Despite the current negative mood around Ethereum, Guillemot was excited about collaborating with Arbitrum and hinted to an impending merger between Cardano, Arbitrum, and Mina Protocol.

One of the main players in the Cardano ecosystem, Guillemot, offers advanced layer-2 solutions. Earlier this year, his company, Paima Studios, announced a layer-2 solution that would allow Cardano users to play games on-chain. With his latest declaration, Guillemot has signalled a paradigm change in the blockchain space by indicating a strategic alliance with Arbitrum and Mina Protocol.

What to expect?

The constraints of existing layer-1 blockchains are emphasised in Paima Studios’ official blog article, which explores the difficulties of scaling decentralised gaming experiences on the blockchain. The book presents Mina Protocol as a potentially revolutionary technology that achieves previously unheard-of scalability by utilising Data Availability and Zero Knowledge layers.

Paima suggests using the Mina Protocol’s account abstraction structure to get over the difficulties associated with user onboarding. With this novel technique, anyone with a variety of blockchains may join without difficulty and without requiring a wallet designed specifically for Mina.

The design of a system known as “funnels,” made possible by Paima’s application architecture, is described in the book. Funnels combine state from many chains, making the development process for developers working in various ecosystems more efficient.

While the Cardano community anxiously awaits the realisation of these audacious goals, fans of ADA can look forward to an exciting 2024 filled with creative partnerships like Arbitrum and Mina Protocol.
