Whales appear to be preparing for a significant price rise for Worldcoin (WLD), which OpenAI creator Sam Altman introduced in July of this year. This is according to a tweet from cryptocurrency analyst and trader Ali on the social networking site X.
Whales withdrawing WLD from exchanges en-masse
Ali stated that when bitcoin whales withdrew almost 3.6 million WDL from cryptocurrency exchanges today, December 14, the number of Worldcoin transactions surged. Whales are “gearing up for a big price move,” according to Ali’s conclusion.

The cryptocurrency business Amber Group was one of these whales. A few hours earlier, the blockchain expert @OnchainDataNerd said that it has removed 2.02 million WLD from the OKX exchange, which amounts to more than half of the whale transactions that had seen a sharp increase today.

Worldcoin’s price has already increased by an amazing 12.78% today. On an hourly chart, though, it was trailed by a large red candlestick, which caused a 6.11% decline. At the time of writing, WLD is trading for $2.55.
The latest significant update released by Worldcoin is most likely what prompted the enormous price spike and the withdrawals of the whales listed above.
World ID 2.0 upgrade arrives
The Worldcoin team has declared the release of Worldcoin ID 2.0, a significant update. They have added facial biometric authentication and support for other commonly used online services to their already extensive digital identification system.
“World ID device level,” “World ID Orb,” and “World ID Orb+” are the three tiers of the enhanced ID. A far higher degree of digital ID verification is guaranteed by all of them. In addition, the Worldcoin team claimed in a newly posted blog post with specifics of the update that World ID 2.0 operates significantly quicker than the previous version (about 24 times faster).
The well-known international services that have included World ID have now spread to social media, gaming, and online shopping portals including Mercado Libre, Shopify, Telegram, and Minecraft.
On X, Sam Altman said that OpenAI has extended ChatGPT+ memberships. After being dismissed by the management board and extended an invitation by Microsoft to join their freshly established artificial intelligence division, Altman was recently reinstated as the CEO of OpenAI.
