During a recent conversation with a well-known member of the Dogecoin (DOGE) team, Elon Musk, CEO and owner of X (previously Twitter), made a hint about an impending substantial update that aroused the interest of computer aficionados.

The Dogecoin designer suggested that the recognisable birdhouse icon that is now used to represent the “home” function on X be retired at the start of the discussion. Elon Musk gave a swift, alluring response by adding, “We will.”

Given the persistence with which the new owner is removing anything connected to what X formerly was, it is unsurprising in the least.

No birds or bots

Musk has been aggressively reshaping the platform’s identity since he bought Twitter and rebranded it around a year ago. Notably, he changed the iconic bluebird emblem to a “X,” which created a great deal of discussion and disagreement.

X is in the process of evolving from a microblogging platform to a super app under Musk’s direction. The plan calls for the platform to be directly integrated with financial services like banking and payments. X has received money transfer licences in a number of American jurisdictions, including Arizona, Missouri, and Georgia, to make this possible.

The implementation of a “small monthly fee” for customers is one of the newest developments being proposed by the new leadership, which is largely intended to address difficulties with bots and spam. Musk thinks that this subscription-based strategy is the most viable means of addressing the ongoing issue of automated accounts.
