XRP Ledger Just Set Brand New Record: Details

XRP

A new record has been broken by XRP Ledger. The 82 millionth ledger on the XRP Ledger was successfully closed about a month ago, marking a significant achievement.

With over two million NFTs, XRPL is nearing another significant accomplishment.

In October 2022, the XLS-20 was introduced, marking a significant victory for XRP Ledger.

Any XRP Ledger account may now create, possess, and trade NFTs thanks to XLS-20’s addition of native non-fungible tokens to the XRPL. The standard includes native non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the XRP Ledger to represent assets that are all distinct, as well as operations to count, send, and store such tokens.

By including features like automated royalties, minting, and burning, XLS-20 substantially lowers the technological requirements for releasing NFTs. NFTs on the XRPL have automatic royalties that uniformly enforce royalties thanks to the ledger’s integrated DEX.

The blockchain has expanded significantly with the addition of NFT capabilities, and NFT activity is still growing.

Bithomp data show that 1,983,544 NFTs have been produced since the introduction of XLS-20. 1,655,534 NFTs are presently owned by 29,584 accounts in total. 1,283,546 NFTs totaled in the transfer or sale.

In honour of “NFT Day,” Bithomp published these numbers on its official X account. It further states that in a single transaction, 352,295 NFTs worth $12,818,839 were sold for XRP. Additionally, 111,140 NFTs were exchanged in a single step for tokens.

Total NFT transactions were one of the few network activity metrics to increase QoQ in the second quarter, according to a Q2 study from Messari, an on-chain analytics company. The spike in NFT activity makes XRPL a strong Ethereum rival, which will probably hasten the adoption of XRP.
