Here’s How Much Crypto Airdrop Hunters Actually Earn

Crypto

In 2022–2023, “airdrop hunters,” or accounts that engage in certain actions in search of rewards from the services that issue governance tokens, are in the public eye. But is this company actually successful? What do we actually know about the typical “hunter”? Blockchain analysts from X-explore presented their findings.

Top airdrop hunters earned over $18,000, report says

The top five recent airdrops, Uniswap (UNI), Ethereum Names Service (ENS), Optimism (OP), Blur (BLUR), and Arbitrum (ARB), managed to award nine thousand thirty-two addresses. The median airdrop revenue for these “premium” hunters is $14,288 whereas the average airdrop money per wallet is $18,935.

A total of 34,547 “standard” airdrop hunters were successful in obtaining three or four prizes out of five, with an average bonus of $9,384 and a median bonus of $6,497. It should be emphasised that a single organisation or trader may be in charge of two or more successful accounts.

The study found that prominent DEX and NFT traders make up the majority of airdrop winners. The likelihood of falling into each category’s “top 1%” of traders is orders of magnitude more than it is for the typical user.

Additionally, before the UNI airdrop, which occurred in September 2020, the great majority of airdrop hunters began utilising Ethereum (ETH) for transactions. So, for at least three years, the group of “Ethereum veterans” has stayed constant.

MetaMask, zkSync, StarkNet: Next targets for airdrop hunters

In reality, the majority of the winners in both categories use Ethereum (ETH) and its services “heavily.” A single “elite” wallet executes 50 transactions on average each month, compared to 0.16 for the typical Ethereum (ETH) address.

According to X-explore analysts, the majority of “hunters” do not believe their airdrop missions are complete. They are now aggressively utilising possible candidates for the upcoming significant token giveaway.

Successful hunters mostly focus their attention on the DEX module of the MetaMask wallet, the NFT platform Foundation, the L2 networks zkSync Era, zkSync Lite, Starknet, and the decentralised application DeBank.
