The SHIB army successfully destroyed about a billion Shiba Inu meme coins over the course of the previous seven days, according to data provided by the Shibburn explorer.
Shytoshi Kusama delivered a significant update during that week, and he also hinted that he would be leaving Shiba Inu shortly.
Weekly SHIB burns surge high
Shiba Inu have been taken out of circulation since last Monday for a total of 708,766,124 SHIB. Even though this is 5% less than the previous week, overall weekly SHIB burns have been rising lately.
Among the 69 burn transactions identified by Shibburn, the largest SHIB lump destroyed included 252,873,213 Shiba Inu tokens and was carried out by an unidentified whale. The two smaller pieces that were destroyed were made up of 84,405,747 and 91,698,204 SHIB.
The total number of SHIB in the constituted SHIB hoard that was burned over the previous 24 hours is 38,690,975. That amounts to around 89% less burning than the SHIB army was able to do on Sunday.
Shytoshi Kusama presents major update, says he intends to leave
The chief creator of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, going by the alias Shytoshi Kusama, announced a significant update to SHIB last week in a blog post. He highlighted the impending publication of the so-called “Worldpaper,” a thorough overview of the SHIB ecosystem intended for a broad audience. It would include SHIB’s future ambitions, prospective collaborations, and more plans to raise the decentralisation threshold for Shibarium and the meme coin.
In addition, Kusama revealed a recent significant relationship between SHIB and Champion Apparel, a company founded by the Shibcals team, to create products with SHIB themes, NFC chips, and so-called “Authenticated Collectibles.”
The news that Kusama spread that once Shibarium and other projects are launched and up and running, his role will not be as necessary, and he intends to step away, leaving the management of the ecosystem in the hands of the SHIB community, was most significant, based on the response of the Shib army on Twitter.
According to information previously disseminated by Shytoshi Kusama and SHIB team member Lucie, the launch of the Shibarium mainnet may take place between July and September.
As previously reported by U.Today, Puppynet (the Shibarium beta network) has experienced a twofold increase in transactions in just a few days, reaching over two million. Due to transaction fees being paid in BONE tokens, every transaction on Shibarium contributes to the burning of SHIB.
