The platform is releasing a new feature that will allow anybody to build communities based on any issue, according to Elon Musk, a tech entrepreneur and the new CEO of Twitter (formerly a CTO).
XRP and Musk’s preferred Dogecoin, as well as other cryptocurrency enthusiasts, swiftly reacted to the tweet.
Several accounts for popular cryptocurrencies, like XRP, DOGE, and MATIC, responded with joy that they would now be able to grow their communities on Twitter.
Elon Musk does not appear to be breaking any necks to add DOGE as an official payment mechanism on Twitter, despite offering a variety of new tools for crypto communities to grow and produce more content (and get rewarded for it via the recently announced Subscription function).
This is in contrast to his prior, repeated, outspoken claims that DOGE would be the ideal “Twitter coin” for compensating content producers and facilitating micropayments on the network.
In a mysterious tweet from ten days ago, the eccentric tech mogul reiterated his support for Dogecoin. “Cry ‘Havoc!’ and let slip the Doges of war,” he wrote back then.
Top XRP army members frequently reply to Musk’s tweets as well, so it’s not only the DOGE community that does so. Recently, when Musk tweeted “X,” referring to the “X-everything-app” that he eventually hopes to transform Twitter into, XRP supporters playfully reacted as though Musk had alluded to XRP.
