Robinhood holds over one-third of the total Dogecoin amount in circulation on behalf of its investors
@DogeWhaleAlert reported how much Dogecoin is currently held by popular brokerage app Robinhood.
$5.1 billion worth of DOGE stored by Robinhood
According to the recent tweet, the company is holding $5,103,182,345 worth of Dogecoin. That constitutes 42,317,050,147 DOGE. Robinhood is storing that many Dogecoins on two crypto wallets, using eight known addresses. This is 31.90 percent of the DOGE supply in circulation.
The meme cryptocurrency is held on behalf of the company’s customers.
Elon Musk comments on DOGE and McDonald’s
Earlier this month, U.Today reported that the centibillionaire, head of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk, commented on the issue of Dogecoin payments and the global fast food giant McDonald’s.
According to his tweet, he can believe that the Dogecoin army has gone all out to get the company to start accepting the original meme cryptocurrency.
Notably, it was Musk who first urged McDonald’s to start taking payments in DOGE, when he tweeted he would eat a Happy Meal on TV, if the fast food behemoth starts accepting Dogecoin.
McDonald’s rejected the proposal, saying Tesla should start accepting Grimacecoin payments first.
Shiba Inu donations are now accepted by the Canadian Healthcare Foundation
Through a partnership with philanthropic startup The Giving Block, the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation has begun accepting donations in multiple cryptocurrencies, including Shiba Inu. Taking this step makes sense to GRHF CEO Mark Korthuis, since the organization is technology and research driven. Korthuis predicts that cryptocurrencies will eventually play “a bigger role” in the world.
Donating in crypto is easy: just create a new account on the Giving Block site and select a certain cryptocurrency from a drop-down menu.
